The Story
Long Long ago, in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan, there was a small village called Kuldhara. It was not just a village only , It was the place where Paliwal Brahmins, who were famous for their knowledge, farming skills, and intelligence were living. Their houses were very strong, their streets were well-planned at that time and their lifestyle was so rich and prosperous.
But in only one night, everything was changed in Kuldhara. The complete village was suddenly got emply. The ruler of Jaisalmer at that time was Diwan Salim Singh. He was a very cruel person by nature. He wants to marry a beautiful girl from Kuldhara, but the girls was not interested to marry him. The family of the girls were not interested in this marriage proposal. So Salim sing threatened the people of the village that he will punished all the villagers. He also imposed heavy taxes on the villagers. The people of Kuldarah got Afraid as he was very much powerful, but for them dignity was most important. The elders of Kuldhara village made a very shocking decision.
The Night Everyone Disappeared
No one truly knows what happened actually on that night , only when the sun rises in the next morning, Kuldhara turn into a ghost village or abandone village.
The people of Kuldhara were afraid of this incident, but they would not let their honour to be taken away. So, under the darkness, the elders gathered and decided to leave their homes forever. One by one, the families packed their belongings and started moving from this place — quietly, swiftly, completely.
By the morning, not a single person was left behind. Every door were kept open, every courtyard were empty. And before leaving, they give a curse to the village:
No one will ever live in Kuldhara again.
Even more than two centuries passed, that curse seems to there in the air.
Since then, for more than 200 years, Kuldhara has remained empty. People who tried to live there said they felt strange things—whispers in the dark, shadows moving, and an uneasy feeling at night. it was probably the result of the curse. Even today, the broken houses, silent streets, and empty temple feel like they are still waiting for their people to return.

By Road: If you are planning by road you can hire a taxi, auto, or take your own vehicle from Jaisalmer. It takes nearly 30 minutes to reach.
By Train: If you are planning by train nearest railway station is Jaisalmer Railway Station probably 21 km away.
By Air: If you are planning by air the nearest airport is Jodhpur Airport . it is 300 km away. From there, you can take a train or car to reach Jaisalmer.
